Look Book Concept Statement

For our shoot, we wanted to tell a story about jealousy and heartbreak with an aesthetic inspired by the disco era. We loved the idea of something mysterious going on in a club setting.

Statement of Purpose

To make our concept relevant to our audience, we explored the different emotions that come along with heartbreak, including sadness, envy, and the desire for revenge.

Pose Board

As a team, we discussed our vision for the shoot, and created inspiration mood boards. This pose board guided how we directed our models throughout the shoot.

Styling Board

Our team stylist, Caroline, took a lot of inspiration from the 1970’s disco era. From inspiration images of Studio 54 to Cher, we envisioned lots of texture, sparkles, and bold colors for our model.

Hair & Makeup Board

We chose to create a bold eye makeup look along with glowy skin. Our team member, Ariana used gems to adorn our model’s eyelids for the shoot.

Storyboarding

I drafted storyboards to map out the chronology of our story. This guided the shoot as we directed our photographer to capture shots as we planned, as well as trying out a variety of angles to get the story across.
